Derek has over 25 years IT experience focusing on Data Center and Collaboration Technologies from telephony to automation.
Derek serves as the Chief Executive Officer with Gotcha-6 Technologies focused on ensuring continuous improvement and forward progress specializing in big data analytics, dev-ops, machine-learning and network automation.
After serving in the US Navy as a Cryptologic Technician Derek focused on UNIX administration and moved into Network engineering and has increased his depth and breadth with CCIE and RHCA certifications.
Derek is a DevOps evangelist focusing on providing up-and-coming engineers with the tools and education to further their careers through his #INIT6 initiative.
Derek is also a member of the CCIE Advisory Committee.
Derek is a published co-author of “Cisco CCNP Routing” by Synergy Press.
Derek has had stints with start-ups to major corporations honing his skills and preparing the next generation of IT professionals with workshops and mentoring.

Richard White
Gotcha-6 Technologies' co-founder, Richard White, has over 25 years of Information Technology experience with notable success in designing and implementing cutting edge networks, including innovative technology changing solutions.
Starting in desktop support after exiting the United States Air Force and sliding over to Systems administration for Windows and Unix then shifting to Network/Security engineering and, ultimately, IT management to include oversight of Managed services and creating global cross-functional infrastructure teams with subject matter expertise in building Level 1 Service Desks to the most robust data center support teams and structures.
Richard has spent the last 15 years in Account and Operational leadership roles leading ever increasing projects to 500 individuals.
